Clunkers privacy
Last updated: October 28, 2026 · Questions: [email protected]
The short version
- No sign-up. We don't ask for your email, real name, age or location.
- Our game server keeps only daily totals and anonymous error reports. It doesn't store IP addresses or any id that points to you.
- Your settings and best scores stay in your browser (or your CrazyGames account on CrazyGames).
- Ads never play during a match. In Europe, the UK and Switzerland we ask before any ad cookies.
- We don't sell your information.
Who we are
Clunkers is a free online game, played at clunkers.io and on CrazyGames. This page explains what happens to information when you play. If anything is unclear, email [email protected].
What stays on your device
The game saves a few things in your browser's storage so they're still there next time:
- your settings: the name you typed, your ship's look, sound, graphics and hint settings, your favourite mode and server;
- your best scores and levels;
- your cookie choice (Europe, UK, Switzerland);
- the date you first played, used only to count how many players come back. In Europe, the UK and Switzerland we keep it only if you choose "Accept all".
You can delete all of it at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser. On CrazyGames, if you're logged in, your best scores are saved to your CrazyGames account instead.
What our game server gets while you play
To run the match, the server receives the name you chose, your controls (where you move and aim) and what happens to your ship. When you leave, that's gone. The server keeps only:
- Daily totals: how many players visited, how many were new or came back, how many games were played, how long visits lasted, how visits ended (left normally or lost connection), the busiest moment of the day, and how many ads were shown. These are counts, not records about any one person.
- Error reports: if the game crashes or hits an error in your browser, it sends us the error message, the game version, the kind of device (phone, tablet or computer) and the browser name (for example "Chrome"). No name, IP address or id is attached. We use these only to fix bugs.
The game server doesn't write down IP addresses. Our hosting companies do handle them, as every website's hosts must, to deliver the game and block attacks: Cloudflare (the website) and DigitalOcean (the game server, in the United States).
Player names and the name filter
The name you type is shown to everyone in your match and on the leaderboard. A filter replaces offensive words, and names aren't saved on our server after you leave. Please don't use your real name or anything personal as your player name, especially if you're young.
Playing with friends
"Play with friends" gives you a short code and an invite link. Anyone who has the code can join your party while it's open, so share it only with people you want to play with. The code is forgotten a few minutes after everyone in the party has left. There's no chat in Clunkers.
CrazyGames accounts
On CrazyGames, if you're logged in, the game uses your CrazyGames username as your name in the match. Our server checks a sign-in token from CrazyGames to confirm the username and doesn't store it. CrazyGames handles your account under its own privacy policy.
Ads and cookies
Ads keep Clunkers free. They never play during a match: only on the menu, as an optional video you can choose to watch to come back after being wrecked, or sometimes as a short video between lives.
- On CrazyGames, all ads come from CrazyGames, which asks for consent itself where the law requires it.
- On clunkers.io, ads will come from Google (Google AdSense / H5 Games Ads). Google and its partners may use cookies or similar technology to show and measure ads, and, if you agree, to choose ads that fit your interests. See how Google uses information from sites that use its services. You can turn off personalized ads from Google at adssettings.google.com.
- In Europe, the UK and Switzerland we ask first. If you don't agree ("Only essential"), ads aren't personalized, no cookies are used for personalized ads, and we don't keep your first-play date. Once Google's ads are on, the question comes from Google's consent message, and "Cookie choices" at the bottom of the game's menu opens it again.
Changed your mind? This button clears the game's own choice on this device; the game will ask again next time you open it.
Done. Reopen the game to choose again.
Children
Clunkers is made for a general audience and isn't aimed at children under 13. We don't ask for or knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children: there are no accounts on our site, no chat and no email sign-up. If you're a parent or guardian and think your child sent us personal information (for example in an email), write to [email protected] and we'll delete it.
Purchases
Clunkers has nothing to buy today. If we add optional purchases later (for example cosmetic items for your ship), payments will be handled by the platform or a payment company, we'll never see your full card details, and we'll update this page before they start.
Your choices and rights
Because we don't keep information tied to you, there's usually nothing on our side to look up or delete. What's on your device you can clear yourself (see above). Wherever you live, including in the EU, UK or California, you can ask us anything about your information or ask us to delete something you sent us, at [email protected].
Changes
If this page changes, the date at the top changes too. Big changes (like starting purchases) will be mentioned in the game.
